Attached Greenhouse in the Mountains
This attached greenhouse provides a year-round garden – and warm, lush retreat – for two permaculture growers in the mountains. The owners wanted an energy-efficient and naturally abundant greenhouse in which they could grow herbs, citrus and medicinal plants. The greenhouse is heated and cooled with a Ground to Air Heat Transfer system, as well as an occasional back-up heater to grow year-round in the mountains. Ceres provided custom greenhouse design and engineering for the high-altitude greenhouse, which had to be rated for 120 mph wind loads and 90 lbs / sq. ft. snow loads. Additionally, Ceres provided turn-key installation for the ultra-sustainable, pre-fabricated greenhouse.
